Edgewater residents, beware… something wickedly fun is creeping your way this fall! If you live for Halloween thrills, love transforming your home into a haunted spectacle, and have a flair for frightful flair—this contest is calling your name.
As the leaves begin to fall and the air turns crisp, The Edgewater Gazette is stirring up excitement with not one, but two major fall events. First up: our Business Spotlight returns on September 30, 2025, shining a light on the next local gem making waves in our community. We’ll announce when entries open, so keep your eyes peeled and your nominations ready.
But that’s just the beginning…
🎃 The 2025 Halloween Decoration Contest 👻 From September 30 through October 31, we’ll be prowling the neighborhoods in search of Edgewater’s most spine-chilling, creatively haunted homes. Whether you’re a fan of classic pumpkins and cobwebs or go all-out with animatronic zombies, fog machines, and eerie lighting—we want to see your haunted haven in full force.
This isn’t just about spooky décor—it’s about community spirit, creativity, and celebrating the season in the most thrilling way possible. We’re looking for homes that stop trick-or-treaters in their tracks, make neighbors gasp, and turn heads from blocks away.
🏆 Winners Will Receive:
-
A $100 Gift Card to treat yourself (or stock up on even more spooky supplies!)
-
A personalized Halloween Spooky Certificate to commemorate your haunted achievement
-
1 Year of Banner Advertising for the business of your choice—perfect for local entrepreneurs or anyone wanting to support a favorite shop
Whether you’re a Halloween veteran with a graveyard in your garage or a newcomer ready to unleash your inner ghoul, this contest is your chance to shine… or scream.
📸 Submissions will be accepted via photo or video, and judging will be based on creativity, scare factor, and overall Halloween spirit. Full entry details will be posted on The Edgewater Gazette website and social media channels starting September 30.
So grab your skeletons, summon your spirits, and let the decorating begin. This year, Edgewater’s Halloween is going to be frighteningly unforgettable.
