Daytona Beach, FL — September 17, 2025

The Florida Youth Foundation has announced plans to set a new date for its highly anticipated Regional Meet after the original event, scheduled for September 27, 2025, was canceled due to public safety concerns.

Organizers cited “unforeseen logistical challenges and elevated safety risks” as the reason for the cancellation, emphasizing that the decision was made in consultation with local authorities and community leaders. The Foundation, which works closely with the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice, is known for hosting events that promote youth empowerment, education, and community engagement.

“We remain committed to providing a safe and inspiring environment for our youth,” said a spokesperson for the Foundation. “While postponing the Regional Meet was a difficult decision, it was necessary to ensure the well-being of all participants.”

The new date for the Regional Meet is expected to be announced in the coming weeks. Organizers are working to secure a venue and coordinate with partners to ensure the event can proceed smoothly and safely.

The Regional Meet typically features workshops, guest speakers, and recognition ceremonies for youth leaders across the state. This year’s theme, “Voices Rising,” was set to highlight youth-led initiatives in social justice, mental health, and community development.
