As the nation prepares to mark the 24th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, Volusia County residents are invited to gather in solemn reflection and unity at a community remembrance ceremony on September 11, 2025, at 8:30 AM, located at 1605 S. Ridgewood Avenue.
Organizers say the event will honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost in the terrorist attacks of 2001, as well as the bravery of first responders, military personnel, and everyday citizens who displayed extraordinary courage in the face of tragedy. The ceremony will include a moment of silence, guest speakers, and a flag presentation to pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
“Twenty-four years later, we remain committed to remembering the sacrifice and showing gratitude for the courage displayed by those during and after the events of 9/11,” said a spokesperson for the event. “This is a time for our community to come together—not only to mourn, but to reaffirm our shared values of resilience, compassion, and unity.”
Local officials, veterans, and members of law enforcement are expected to attend, alongside families and residents who continue to carry the memory of that day in their hearts.
Attendees are encouraged to arrive early and wear patriotic colors as a sign of solidarity. The ceremony is open to all, and organizers hope it will serve as a powerful reminder that even in the darkest moments, the American spirit endures.
🇺🇸 Let’s stand together—and never forget.
