In the wake of personal loss, Lori Wagner has turned grief into a mission of remembrance. Just days after the passing of her mother, Brenda Hensley, Wagner has founded a heartfelt initiative called Legacy of Mom’s Love—a community-driven effort to honor mothers through shared stories, photos, and faith.

Brenda Hensley, who passed away after a courageous battle with dementia, is remembered by her daughter as “a woman of quiet strength, deep faith, and unconditional love.” Wagner says the group is not only a tribute to her mother, but a call to others: “If you’ve lost a mom, please share her picture and her story. Let’s never forget our moms.”

📖 Faith as the Cornerstone

The group draws spiritual inspiration from Ephesians 6:2–3, which reads:

> “Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;
> That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.”

Wagner says this verse was one her mother cherished, and it now serves as the foundation for the group’s mission. “It’s not just scripture—it’s a way of life. Honoring our mothers is honoring the love that shaped us.”

Legacy of Mom’s Love invites participants to submit photos and stories of their mothers, creating a living archive of maternal legacy. Wagner hopes the initiative will become a space for healing, connection, and celebration—especially for those navigating grief.

Early responses have poured in from across the region, with heartfelt tributes and cherished memories. “It’s beautiful to see how many lives were shaped by the love of a mother,” Wagner shared. “This is about legacy—not just mine, but all of ours.”
