Edgewater, FL — The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is moving ahead with an $8.7 million infrastructure project to resurface State Road 44 from west of I-95 to east of South Walker Drive. The initiative will also include minor drainage improvements, upgraded sidewalks and curb ramps, and enhancements to lighting and traffic signals.
FDOT will begin soliciting construction bids on August 26, 2026, with work expected to improve safety, accessibility, and overall road conditions along the corridor.
To ensure transparency and gather public input, FDOT Central Florida will host an open house from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 11 at the Brannon Center. Attendees will have the opportunity to view the design plans, ask questions, and share feedback directly with project officials.
