Daytona Beach’s own hometown hero, firefighter Dustin Adams, has just etched his name into the annals of powerlifting history—one jaw-dropping lift at a time.
Competing under the United States Powerlifting Association (USPA), Adams benched a staggering 523.6 pounds, setting not one, not two, but three monumental records in his weight class and division:
- 🏆 USPA Florida Bench Press Record — All ages and 35–39 age group
- 🇺🇸 USPA National Bench Press Record — 35–39 age group
- 🌍 USPA World Push-Pull Bench Press Record — 35–39 age group
And just when the crowd thought he’d peaked, Adams stepped up for the deadlift and pulled a thunderous 650 pounds, clinching the USPA Florida 35–39 year old deadlift record.
Adams, known for his grit on the job and in the gym, has long balanced the demands of firefighting with elite-level training. His recent performance is a testament to the discipline, strength, and heart he brings to both his profession and his sport.
“Dustin doesn’t just lift weights—he lifts the spirit of this community,” said one fellow firefighter. “He’s proof that heroes wear bunker gear and lifting belts.”
