
Votran riders can expect a seamless transition as Volusia County prepares to hand over operations to a new contractor, RATP Dev USA, beginning August 15. County officials have emphasized that no disruptions to service are anticipated during the changeover.
The Volusia County Council approved the contract with RATP Dev USA during its May 6 meeting, selecting the company to lead the next chapter of public transit in the region. The County’s Transit Services Division is working closely with RATP Dev to ensure continuity and quality for all riders.
🚍 What’s Changing — and What’s Staying the Same
- RATP Dev will integrate current Votran employees into its operations, preserving institutional knowledge and community relationships.
- New scheduling software is being introduced to optimize bus operations. While staff undergo training and the system is configured, existing platforms will remain active to maintain uninterrupted service.
- Paratransit customers will soon benefit from a new mobile app, offering features like trip scheduling, real-time status updates, and pre-payment options.
