A 68-year-old Deltona woman tragically passed away Thursday afternoon following a single-vehicle crash on Courtland Boulevard, according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the scene in the 2700 block of Courtland Boulevard at approximately 1:27 p.m., where the woman’s vehicle had veered off the road and collided with a parked car. Emergency medical services and deputies initiated life-saving measures on-site before transporting the driver to a nearby hospital. Despite their efforts, she was pronounced deceased shortly after 2 p.m.

A witness driving behind the victim’s vehicle reported seeing the driver slump over the wheel moments before the crash. The witness attempted to alert the driver by honking several times, but the vehicle continued off the roadway.

Authorities confirmed the woman was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash and showed no visible signs of trauma. The cause of the incident remains under investigation, though preliminary observations suggest a possible medical episode may have preceded the collision.

⚠️ Death Disclosure Notice
The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office extends its deepest condolences to the woman’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.

Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
