Friday, laughter echoed through the grounds of the Boys & Girls Club as Edgewater’s bravest teamed up with the community’s youngest to turn a sweltering summer day into a memory-making splash fest. With temperatures soaring, the Edgewater Fire Department rolled in with a fire truck full of goodwill—and a whole lot of water.

🚒 A Cool Surprise
As part of their ongoing commitment to community engagement, firefighters treated the kids to a surprise spray-down, transforming the parking lot into a pop-up water park. Cheers erupted as the hose was unleashed, sending arcs of water into the air and smiles across every face.

“It’s the best day ever!” shouted one young club member, soaked and beaming.

😎 Community Spirit in Action
The event wasn’t just about cooling off—it was a reminder of the strong bonds between Edgewater’s first responders and the families they serve. Firefighters took time to chat with the kids, share safety tips, and even join in the fun.

“We love doing this,” said one firefighter. “It’s about showing up, being present, and letting these kids know we’re here for them—not just in emergencies, but in everyday life too.”

🌊 A Day to Remember
The Boys & Girls Club staff expressed deep gratitude for the visit, noting how much joy it brought to the children. “Moments like these matter,” said one staff member. “They remind our kids that they’re seen, valued, and supported.”

As the sun began to dip and the last droplets dried, the message was clear: Edgewater is a town that knows how to come together—and how to stay cool doing it.

Stay safe, stay hydrated, and stay connected, Edgewater. More summer fun is just around the corner!
