DELTONA, FL – July 1, 2025 — Volusia Sheriff’s Office (VSO) detectives are urgently seeking the whereabouts of Thomas A. Calderon (DOB: 10/17/1987), following a violent early morning altercation that left one man hospitalized in critical condition. An arrest warrant has been issued for attempted second-degree murder with a firearm after Calderon allegedly shot a 29-year-old man during a dispute at 1500 Flagami Terrace in Deltona.
At approximately 3:11 a.m., deputies were alerted when the victim arrived at an Orange City hospital, transported by his girlfriend. The man had sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen, and was later transferred to a Sanford hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition after undergoing emergency surgery.
Initial investigations indicate the confrontation was personal and heated—sparked by a disagreement over the victim’s treatment of his girlfriend. During the argument, Calderon is accused of drawing a firearm and shooting the victim at close range, then fleeing the scene.
Sheriff’s deputies swiftly secured the Flagami Terrace residence—believed to be Calderon’s home—and conducted a thorough search under warrant. However, Calderon was not present at the property. His current location is unknown, but law enforcement sources say he has known connections to the Sanford and Seminole County areas.
